David Waterford Principal Consultant

David brings significant experience in executive roles to his work as a consultant.  Since joining  oztrain, he has had assignments with clients in the private, public and not for profit sectors, including local government and universities.

Prior to sixteen years in the public sector, David worked in direct service delivery and management in non-government community services and as well as in community education. In the South Australian public sector, David held executive positions in the Department for the Premier and Cabinet and the Department for Families and Communities. At the time of his resignation he was a deputy chief executive in the Department for Education and Child Development. He headed-up Families SA, the State’s child protection service, for over five years. He has experience in line agencies in the areas of public health and human services, as well as extensive central agency experience.

David is available to work with clients in all oztrain service areas and has particular interest in evaluation and reviews, coaching, strategic thinking and planning, organisational change and development, and executive and middle management development.

Most weekends David can be found in a large vegetable garden on the Fleurieu Peninsular, enjoying the fresh air, harvesting the latest crop or planting the next.
