Opportunity versus Obligation

Monday August 1, 2016

I always find my effort goes up when I think about the opportunity the task will bring about. My willingness to learn a lot more, and get a lot more done is a natural result of having the right focus - the right mindset – for the task. Seeing the task as an opportunity rather than an obligation.

If you look at learning (being temporarily uncomfortable in confusion whilst expanding outside your comfort zone) with fear, dread, grief, and regret, then you are seeing it as an more of an obligation than and opportunity – something you HAVE to do, rather than something you WANT to do.

Instead, look at learning as an exciting (even fun) opportunity to grow, to enrich your life, a way to propel you to greatness, a route to a much better life, and to enjoy the thrilling satisfaction of amazing accomplishment. It's known that when you’re out of your comfort zone, you’re growing. And if you're not growing, you're stagnating - or even rotting.

You’ll soon find that changing your mindset to always look at the opportunity not the obligation will change your behaviour and the intensity level of your effort.
